Current Lessons

All grades, K-5, are learning about the rainforest!  We are watching grade-level appropriate videos to learn about why the rainforest is so important, what food we get from the rainforest, and the animals that live in the rainforest.  Kindergarten and first grade will complete a rainforest "book," and use Internet sites to play animal games that will reinforce knowledge learned from videos and discussion about the rainforest.  Second grade students will complete simple research and draw four animals they learned about before going to the Internet to play animal games that will further their knowledge about classification of animals and the food chain.  Third through fifth grade will follow-up their video with a research lesson and PowerPoint which they will present to their teacher and peers while being graded on their PowerPoint.  To complete our rainforest lesson, students will take a quiz about the rainforest for a science grade.

We will finish up the year by reviewing technology skills and take some time to explore our favorite websites and programs!
